
Recipe: Plant-Based Bliss Balls
A fantastic on-the-go snack, these nut-free chocolate bliss balls are perfect for lunchboxes, quick snacks, easy desserts or to enjoy outside in the afternoon.
Bliss balls are also a great recipe to encourage your little ones into the kitchen. Let them get their hands messy by rolling out the ball batter into small balls. Don’t worry if they’re not all the same size, or don’t look perfectly round – they’ll still taste great!

Nut-free bliss balls (makes 24 balls):
For the balls
- 1 cup Medjool dates
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons cacao powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 teaspoons pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
For the coating:
- 3 tablespoons of desiccated coconut
Method :
- Wash the dates, dry them, and remove the pits. Roughly chop the dates.
- Add the dates to the bowl of a food processor along with the rolled oats, coconut, cacao powder, vanilla extract and maple syrup and process until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Check that the mixture is sufficiently moist to be able to roll into balls. If not, add a teaspoon of water and blend again.

Take about a teaspoon of mixture and roll it into small balls and toss in the coconut.

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks, or freeze for up to three months.
