Maximise your CCS hours with sessions

Starting 1 July 2022, Sustainable Play Preschool is offering sessions to families. Utilising sessions allows you to choose the session that best fits your family’s needs for care in addition to helping you maximise your Child Care Subsidy (CCS) support. We try to keep everything very transparent for families, read more on Sessions and Fee Information here.

We are open for 10.5 hours a day, from 7:30-6:00pm, so without sessions, families could potentially go over their CCS allotted hours or be paying for care when they do not need it. With sessions, you only pay for the care you need and families can opt for the right number of days and session for their family’s unique circumstances.

First, find out how many CCS hours you are entitled to each fortnight via Centrelink. Then with that information and depending on the amount of hours and the desired days you’d like for care, review the charts below for which session will best optimise your CCS support.

For example, a family entitled to 100 hours of CCS a fortnight will make 100% use of their hours by doing 5 days per week in the 10 hour session. This family would go over their hours and have to pay fees out of pocket if they choose the ‘Full Day’ session if they don’t actually require that time in care for their child.

A family entitled to 72 hours a fortnight will make 100% use of their CCS hours at 4 days per week in the 9 hour session.

A family entitled to 36 hours a fortnight will make 100% use of their CCS hours at 2 days per week in the 9 hour session.

Please give us a call or write us an email if you have any questions!

Interested in enroling your child at Sustainable Play Preschool?

Our team would love to meet your family and show you around our wonderful preschool! Sustainable Play Preschool is a small preschool, offering long day care hours, with a focus on engaging children thoughtfully with the natural world every day. Our play-based curriculum holistically prepares children to thrive and includes cooking classes, bush kindy, yoga sessions, gardening and regeneration classes, art and STEM activities.

We also offer families the option of booking casual days at our preschool with no pressure to commit to an ongoing enrolment. You can pick the dates that you need care and cease care whenever you want. Casual days are subject to availability.

Suzie works in our office as our Preschool Administrator, she has two young children.

Suzie graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor’s in Human Development and Communication. After graduating, she worked on farms in America’s Northeast region. She eventually worked as a Garden Educator with Island Grown Schools for 3 school years on Martha’s Vineyard. It was also on Martha’s Vineyard that Suzie started a biodegradable cosmetics company, Suzie Sticks, where she made all natural lip balm, deodorant and mineral-based sunscreen in compostable recycled paper tubes.

Suzie has been glad to join the Sustainable Play Preschool team where her values in sustainability, education and care for the natural world all come together beautifully.
